I like CDs, and I like liner notes and all that, but I do believe they are part of an outmoded technology.

You may be right, but - do you know - you never can tell. IT and media gurus have been predicting the death of the book for over 20 years, and we're printing more than ever, even with the growing popularity of the Kindle and Sony Reader devices. There was the same certainty about the death of vinyl - a medium which has never gone away - on which some artists are now doing simultaneous CD/download/vinyl releases.

The CD itself is not as visually or tactilely as pleasant to look at and handle as a vinyl album, but it's certainly more marketable than a flash drive.
