The Coasters in the late 50's did a song about TV heroes with the chorus:

And then along came Jones,
Tall thin Jones,
Slow walkin' Jones,
Slow talkin' Jones,
Along came longly, lanky Jones.

Each verse played out a little suspenseful tale and ended something like this:

And then he grabbed her. And then?
He tied her up. And then?
He threw on the railroad track. And then?
A train started coming. And then? And then?
Uh,uh

And then along came Jones (etc.)....
