I do have a problem with female bishops - but just the bishop part! We should never have allowed that feudal relic to creep back into the Church of England. Why should so many of them sit unelected in the House of Lords. As the number of 'coal face' clergy has diminished, the number of bishops seems to have increased. Our Team Rector looks after ten churches (more to be added) in big rural parishes with only two curates and one of those is semi-retired; he has no paid clerical help. Each of these churches would have had a vicar/rector plus a curate a century ago. Yet in the diocese there are three bishops, with secretaries, drivers, gardeners etc etc. Talk about all chiefs and no indians!
