The city of Fort Worth has had the position of city forester ever since their charter was drawn up (1860s?), it's a historic fact and is one of the reasons the city wins urban forestry awards. And yes, there is tons of information available. I worked with them for years before I was on the park board (I was the one who watered several blocks of trees in the median of our boulevard when the city wouldn't plant them without my volunteer help. They have a water truck but it was fully subscribed.) Here in my town they have the benefit of all of that work if they'll open their eyes. Last night was simply the opening salvo - if I want this to move forward I'll be going to every park and city council meeting from here on out.

Shopping with a neighbor this afternoon, to let her look at the types of computers that are out there. I have a sink full of dishes to clear out, and get ready for my son returning tomorrow. I hope he'll spend the night here, so I'll be ready with his favorite food.
