We went to look, we compared, I talked my neighbor through the options, and she warmed up to the type I thought she would, the all-in-one desktops that don't need to have room for expansion, that have a trim look and these days are touch screen. Very nice! It took a while to get it set up - the instructions are incomplete for the Blutooth keyboard and mouse, but after that, it was the usual slog through updates and setting up her preferences. Once she had logged onto her Gmail and her web page and it looked the way she wanted, I opened Google Earth and showed her how to cruise the planet. :)

When the new one was set up, she wanted to look in the old computer, so I opened it, and showed her where the hard drive was. She had me take it out and the case is in the garage to go get recycled somewhere. She is finished with the 9-year-old Dell. And unless something untoward happens, I won't have to do too much troubleshooting for several years, I imagine!
