Many commercial sites place "tracking cookies" on your computer when you visit, so they can tailor the information they give you if you go back. It's a bit spooky, but it can be helpful. You can set your browser to block such cookies, but that does eliminate the advantages cookies can give you.

I like to use Google Chrome because it seems faster than other browsers. However, it seems to have problems with complicated Websites like Hotmail unless I regularly go to "tools" and deleted Internet files, including cookies. Trouble is, that means I have to go and log in at a number of Websites I visit regularly, like Mudcat. I wish there were a way to clean out the troublesome cookies and leave the ones I want.
