I don't know the song, but am able to verify that Sing-Sing is indeed a prison in the US, precisely it is in Ossining, New York, about 25 miles "up the river" (that's the Hudson) from Manhattan. Its name derives from the native people who inhabited the area a few hundred years ago, the Sint-Sink. I used to live two blocks away, they were very quiet neighbors.
