sigh... this tread makes m want to cry.   Cannot believe how much I miss gardening.

Plan to get me through the next few years stuck in a first floor flat.

After the kitchen is replaced - get or build a narrow, open shelf unit to place in the floor to ceiling, near wall to wall lounge window and fill it with plants, flowers and herbs.

Problem maybe how to protect the plants from the heat of morning sun burning in through the summer. The window faces east.

I don't want to completely obscure the window and view out to the nasty half dead leylandii on the other side of back fence. There is some bird activity to watch there.
