Hi! I've only just read this and think it was actually me singing 'Woodbine Annie' at the Folk club in Trowse in Norwich (my frien's mum Mauny is one of the founder members)- it's always been one of my favourite songs and was on an album my ex-husband had by John Bryant. Both my daughters learned it very early on and used to sing it in the car when they were tiny - probably not an appropriate song for children! I usually only sing it nowadays when I've had a drink although I sang it to fellow trekkers round a camp fire last year when I walked along the Great Wall of China for Parkinson's UK.
