There are two children's books about Sadako Sasaki, both by Eleanor Coerr. One is a chapter book, "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes;" the other is a picture book, "Sadako." I used to read these to my students. Both are wonderful and as heartbreaking as the song. I think Pete Seeger did a song about this, too.
