Suibhne Astray - "most of the words aren't worth hearing anyway"

Say WHAT???????????????????????? LOL!!!

Look, man, I only am interested in listening to songs in which the words are most definitely worth hearing, and I hear all of them all the time. There are people out there who are writing absolutely brilliant lyrics, and that is at least 50% of the reason for listening to their songs.

For example: Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Mary Chapin Carpenter...just to list 3 prime choices. And there are hundreds of others one could name along that same line.

If the words are no good, I'm not interested, unless I'm listening just for laughs. If the words are good, I am interested. If the music is good also, so much the better. It's great to hear an artist that hits on every level equally well.

Without words, we wouldn't even be talking about this. ;-D We'd just be howling, like my dog does when I play the harmonica. (and he does enjoy singing along, that's for sure, but he has no idea about the words)
