Went to hear Bill Nye speak tonight. He makes such a good point about how percarious our planetary system is and how important it is to take back our atmosphere.

Tracking backwards from his lecture points, I researched solar tubes a few years ago, but forgot about it, but I am inspired to look into a couple now. They are a form of skylight that are efficient and provide great light in rooms without windows. I could put them in three places, for sure. My hall bathroom, if I had to choose just one place. He had a slide of his solar panels on his roof and included a veiw of a solar tube with a "Fresnel" lens (the "s" is silent). It can capture the sun so efficiently that if you check them out on YouTube, you'll see this lens put the old magnifying-lens-starts-a-fire example to shame, it is so fast. This place has those lenses on their solar tubes. Obviously I don't want to start fires with the thing, but I want one to capture the light with a small surface area. I read about one of these tubes that has a separate channel for airflow, if you want to run a vent (like from a bathroom). Something more to look into.

That's it for me. I poked around some of the papers this evening that I complained about earlier. There is some work to do, to organize, sort, trash, or file all of it. It needs to move up on my list of things to do.
