Here's a great big one for you Mortee and a cuddly hug, too.
When we left New England, we drove off with my oldest daughter, my best friend and confidante, standing on the sidewalk waiting for her bus to the next town over where she'd just moved. We had no idea when we would see each other again as we were going all the way out to Wyoming. She and I cried buckets. I don't know how, but we did live through it.
Did the same thing with my son, but we were only going 2.5 hours drive away, so knew we would see him frequently.
Our youngest reversed the process and left us behind at home. I think I prefer to be the one leaving. I hated the empty house after she'd left. She is now back after two years, in our house and buying her own house!
Wallow, Mortee, go ahead and wail, scream, sob, holler, talk to us (ICQ or PM's)...let it out and know that Fiona is missing you as much. It will get better. It's what we raise them to do and we can be glad that they do it well.
