The version I heard is on an Eric Bogle CD, but it seems to be Americanized to a raccoon there, too. I heard it as:

"A pair of high-strung poodles and a yellow labrador
And a raccoon who just happened to be passing."

"We've Alsatians, Dalmations, the fruits of a flirtation
Twixt a half-blind Pekingese and a toupee!"

And as a veterinarian, I think I've *seen* the Pekingese/toupee mix at least once! :-)
