I listened and made this transcription. It was a hard one to transcribe but I think I got most of it correct. Listen again and see what you think. (If it's not perfect it's at least good enough to sing. Who will know the difference?)

WRECK ON THE MOUNTAIN ROAD
As sung by The Red Fox Chasers, 1928

They gave him his orders at Bullhead Mountain,
Saying, "Brown, you are always behind.
It is of yourself that you are thinking.
You care nothing for the loss of time."

He jumped on the truck and he pulled down the throttle,
Saying, "I'll try and make lost time.
It's a mountain road that I have to travel,
And it's full of the dangerous climb."

It's one highway he had to travel,
And the curves were many and sharp.
It was late in the day when he left Glade Valley
And he wanted to make it by dark.

On one of these turns near the foot of the mountain.
The truck it swerved around.
It threw Lonnie out and a timber struck him
And he died there upon the ground.

Now to all other men who drive this mountain,
Let this be a warning to you.
He left his wife and two little children.
The next one might be you.

We will say to May(?) and her two little children,
To his loving memory be true.
Safe in that home beyond all trouble
He is waiting for his children and you.

[There is a mountain named Bullhead Mountain in Alleghany County, North Carolina. There is a valley and a town named Glade Valley nearby.

[Compare this song to THE WRECK OF THE OLD 97 which it resembles in several ways.]
