Subject: Folklore: Westcountry Playground Rhymes
Can anyone here (from the Westcountry in Britain) remember any rhymes they learned in the playground? I am trying to put together a post for this blog - http://westcountryfolklore.blogspot.com/

I have written down those my wife and I can remember and it turns out to be quite a lot! This seems to be a fun vein of Folklore to explore...

As a sort of format I would love to include a place and an approximate date, for instance like this -

Ip Dip Do

Batmans got the flu
Robins got the measles
so out goes you
if it lands on number ten
it will be you
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

You could add some background stories if you like.

ps for Westcountry be self defining - I have found that to be the best option - if you come from Gloucester and feel you live in the Westcountry that is good enough for me!
