Thread Name: BS: I didn't have my glasses on
Subject: RE: BS: I didn't have my glasses on
I started on glasses about four years older than you, Jim, though I graduated to varifocals. When you're driving a seven-and-a-half tonner, it's handy to be able to see the dashboard AND the road ahead (not to mention the mirrors)! I had a wierd experience once - I was lying there giving blood when I realized that everything was fuzzy - stopped panicking two seconds later when I realised I was looking at everything through the reading bit!
My wife doesn't like sub-titled films - she keeps the distance specs in the car for driving (when she remembers to wear them). She did appreciate the difference though when I talked her into her first pair of reading glasses - she was working as a Leagl Secretary at the time and suddenly stopped getting headaches every working day.
PS. I could still pass the sight part of the driving test without glasses, but I know the difference in my eyesight and driving without glasses terrifies me.
