Corrections;
Hide in a hollow log I never be found - Hey down bubble down never be found.
Hide in a hollow log I never be found - Hey down bubble down never be found.

(Chorus)

Hounds are getting closer running me down, Hey down bubble down running me down.
Time for me to go sir, swimming around, Hey down bubble down swimming around.

I must say, written down it's not the best lyric I ever wrote!
My accompanist and fellow writer Graham Cooper and I were driving home from a gig discussing children's songs when the idea for this lyric came to me.
We pulled in to a layby on a country road and I wrote down the words and Graham wrote down the melody.We were so engrossed we didn't notice a car drawing up behind us as the windows were misted over. Then there was a tap on my driver's window. Winding it down revealed a police officer peering in.
"Godd evening gentlemen. Would you care to explain what you're doing in this layby at 1 o'clock in the morning?".
"You won't believe me officer."
"Try me sir."
"We're writing a song."
And that's how "Otter in the Water" was premiered by Graham and me standing in a layby being listened to by a couple of very puzzled police officers.
We were allowed to drive off having given our autographs!
