New Bedford's Summerfest is a wonderful event. One of the highlights is the workshops where performers take turns singing songs related to a single topic. Summerfest is very reasonably priced. The concert venues are within about 4 small blocks in downtown New Bedford. Venues include the New Bedford Whaling Museum and the National Park Service building. Parking is free. Wear good walking shoes, because the streets are cobblestone.
