I disagree that Cuba's agriculture is deficient. It was developed after the U.S.S.R left the country "high and dry" and it's based on organic farming principles which are preferable to the Monsanto vision of agribusiness in the U.S. with pesticides and wasteful crop yields.
Ethanol anyone?

There is no place on earth that's a paradise but you have to admire a country that in the face of adverse odds actually did something constructive for its people.
