And whenever I hear anybody talk about infringements of democracy in Cuba (mainly explainable by the fact that that country has a very un-neighbourly nuclear-weilding bully for a neighbour), I only have to remember that our local airport (Shannon) has regular landings of American military aircraft carrying illegally held prisoners on their way to be tortured (by 'friends of democracy' who are not too fussy about such incidentals) on behalf of 'the land of the free..... etc'.
Ironically, those unfortunates will then be shipped of to the 'democratic' bit of Cuba and detained in conditions it would be illegal to keep animals in
- funny old world!!
