I have a fair number of friends on Facebook. Maybe 50 or thereabouts. While some of them are genuine friends, and others more just acquaintances, I spend virtually no time at all on Facebook. I feel that if I did, I would merely lose another big chunk of my life to virtual reality, and I would gain absolutely nothing worthwhile in the process. Facebook is like beer. I know it exists, I know it's ubiquitous in fact, but I almost never think about it (except, in the case of beer, when I'm composing stories about Shane).
