"which given a bit more time, I'll turn you on to," I'm sure you will GfS - the things we'd do if we only had the time.....!! I've got all the time in the world, so don't feel you have to rush. Both Viet Nam and Cuba are shining examples of how the US has behaved abroad since the end of WW2 - making them not only bad neighbours, but also extremely bad tourists. You don't have to look too much further than the end of your nose to find examples of this - Ed T's list is an excellent start. I used to have a list from British newspaper pinned up on the board here, of over 50 countries bombed or militarily interfered with by the US since 1945, but I binned it when it became badly out-of-date. America has behaved the way it has to 'protect the word for democracy" supposedly; the problem has been that they forgot to tell us who will protect us from the protectors. "Don't reckon either one of you would know a great cheeseburger if ya' ate one...................." Spaw I loathe burgers of any shape or form, with their scabby kangaroo meat and cotton-wool buns, and as far as I'm concerned, the inflicting of them onto a defenceless world counts as one of the greatest crimes against humanity to date. If America really had the well-being of the world at heart they would have napalmed every MacDonalds and every Burger King out of existence as a gesture of goodwill towards our digestion and health. Bon appétit Jim Carroll
