Well, I'll make the announcement here.

Next week the roses in front of our house will be transplanted (professionally, I kill things). We will then power-wash the hard-water scale off the bricks, probably get the concrete painted (Pat vetoed pink camouflage for some reason), and the professional-type landscaping will begin. When we are done later this Spring it will include an entirely new look for both the front and back of the house, two new patio doors, and two new pedestrian doors.

In the meantime I've been removing landscaping gravel -- literally by hand -- so we can get new mulch. I am, to make an understatement, a bit sore and will continue to be as the gravel is relocated.
