OK, I have a confession....I adore the smell of bonfires. It takes me right back to being with my Dad in the autumn time, him showing me how to stack the leaves, how to burn them, after a hard day sweeping them all up into piles...Dad putting the hot poker into the incinerator and all the scarlet sparks whizzing out as the air rushed in..and the smoke coming out through the funnel top...Ah, happy days..

And creosote? Oh, Eliza, I feel for you both and hope it soon passes, but I used to stand next to fences that had been creosoted, breathing it in deeply, LOVED the smell of it! Even today it calls to me...but you don't smell it that often now, as the new fence paints have taken its place..

I'm an ace at making bonfires! :0)
