Subject: RE: BS: Hot enough for you in the UK this week?
My plants aren't happy Easter bunnies..They're all going "Phew! TOO HOT!" at the moment...And of course, the heating is on FULL on the buses..This is due to health and safety, because the switch is now in the back of all buses, in the engines, so drivers aren't allowed to touch anything in that area.
What happens is the drivers get chilly first thing in the morning, so rather than put a woollie on, they get the engineer to put the heating on. Then, when they get back to the bus station, after their first round trip, they ask the engineer to turn the heating off...Just one problem though, there's never an engineer around when they get back to the bus station...so...the heating stays on ALL day long. This goes on throughout the entire summer...
And if you want to know how I know, I got off the bus one day very hot and very bothered, after a summer's journey into Exeter. People were practically expiring because of the heat...I went totally nuts in the bus station main office...and finally I found out WHY the passengers have to put up with it all. They promised they'd do something about it, but it's the same every single year.
Hey, bus drivers, put your Cardigans on in the morning and leave the heaters OFF.
I'm off to cool off now, having just had a very warm journey back from town.... :0) <
