http://portableapps.com/ has a whole suite of PC programmes which are set up to run from a USB stick without installing anything on your Windoze PC.
That said, you can put them into a folder anywhere on your actual PC and run them from there. If you decide that you do not need a programme, you just delete the sub-folder it is in.
The suite contains portable versions of Firefox, Chrome, Open Office, The Gimp and many more, so you can work with your own programmes and settings on any compatible PC.
