Subject: Lyr Add: Give Me That Old Capitalist System
A number of Republican governors are leading the charge around the country to repeal worker's rights, welfare rights, environmental laws, and protection from ethnic or racial discrimination. In Maine we have Gov. Paul LePage, who is also good at putting his foot in his mouth when he tries to focus on one of these issues. Most recently he had a labor mural removed from the Maine Department of Labor, because one of his business friends considered it biased. Here's a song inspired by our Governor:

Tune: traditional revival "Give Me that Old Time Religion"
New words composed by Charlie Ipcar, 4/21/2011
inspired by Gov. Paul LePage of Maine

That Old Capitalist System

Chorus,

Now, give me that old capitalist system,
That good old capitalist system;
Give me that old capitalist system,
It's good enough for me!

We'll, it's good for child labor.
Good for child labor;
It's good for child labor,
And it's good enough for me! (CHO)

Now, drain that old vernal pool,
Drain that old vernal pool;
It'll make a nice cesspool,
And it's good enough for me! (CHO)

It's good for racial discrimination,
Good for old racial discrimination;
It's good for racial discrimination,
And it's good enough for me! (CHO)

Now it's good for busting unions,
Great for busting unions;
It's awesome for busting unions,
And it's good enough for me! (CHO)

It's good for the creative economy,
Good for the creative economy;
It's good for the creative economy,
If they do what I decree! (CHO)

Maybe I can recruit a few people to sing the chorus in harmony with me in the Hall of Flags at the State Capitol.
