Thread Name: Bruce Murdoch CD: Sometimes I Wonder...
Subject: RE: Bruce Murdoch CD Launch
Thank you to all the folks who have posted here.
I owe special thanks to most of you, and I`m glad you like at least some of the songs. The one disappointment I have is that time and money made it impossible to add two high tempo up-beat songs. However, I like most of it and love some of the cuts no end.
Dan and Mark have worked hard the past few days to get a web page going. My mailing address will be added for tomorrow for folks who dislike internet money transfers, etc. And BOTH e-mail addresses still reach me.
The songs are likely too rockish for folk and too folkish for rock, but that ain`t gonna change anytime soon. I got to work with some excellent musicians and really enjoyed myself despite the hard work involved. What I liked most was sending the raw cuts to Bankley, Allatt, Garrett, Larocque, Crilly, Lachance, Whyte, Taylor and Bernard and then getting OUT of their way. I just couldn`t figure out the use in getting people I consider to be the best in the business to work on the CD and then presume to tell them what to do. That`s where some of the magic came from.
Eric Bernard was also the engineer, and following the advice of Ron Bankley who drummed into me with MotH that I should
1) never throw anything away
2) sing the way I want
Eric and I let a few mistakes go. I`m quite sure people will find them on their own.
Anyway, you can reach me at irishancestry at gmail.com
or

The web page is at

Please note that the CD is NOT folk music. It never was and doesn`t pretend to be. It`s the first CD I have produced, but it would NOT have been possible without my good friend Ron Bankley`s advice or Eric Bernard`s guidance from time to time.
Thank you.
Bruce
