Tyke me owld mate sorry to come across as a bit negatory but I have to say that I have some reservations about this idea of yours for "Open Mike" sessions in the Elephant and Castle on Fri and Sat nights of Holmfirth Festival of Folk.

In the past two years the Elepant and Castle has been a rare and welcomed safe refuge and haven for some really good singarounds away from the hustle and bustle of some other venues.

These sessions (un-plugged) have been excellent and very memorable so why spoil a good thing? and I am not convinced that the rest of the pub will appreciate the invasion?
