Burton Coggles, it's like I said. In some areas the position is different to others.

The uptake in grow your own is great to see, and now councils will be getting public health as part of their portfolio (if the health bill gets through) it could be said that allotments are something they have a duty to promote as part of their health promotion agenda.

Not wanting to go off on a tangent here, but Geoff the Duck has summed Eric Pickles up in one. I only hope the media have the negatives and documents and are just waiting for the ideal opportunity to expose him for what he is. I have had dealings with him and why is it that what bit of sense he has (he is clever in some ways, don't underestimate him) is so set in a negative cynical self adulating way? His post is one that can make decisions that can do so much good and up to yet, he has either shown contempt for others or sheer incompetence.

Perhaps after today's election, Cameron will be forced into a reshuffle and take the opportunity to promote him out of the way, to somewhere that looks good but is hamstrung to actually do anything. His present portfolio allows him to do things, and that is dangerous.....
