I am greatly impressed by your scholarly approach to all your posts -- tho I am sure you will not mind my pointing out, as you are clearly someone like me who likes accurate info, that the Notting Hill riots occurred in 1958, so cannot have directly affected the 1955 rewrite ~~ tho the atmosphere that led up to them was of course already prevalent and relevant.
