The Tall Ships haven't a clue, but the Cleveland MetroParks concert venue had the good grace to book Lee Murdock, noted and fabulous singer of songs of the Great Lakes:
Friday May 13
CanalWay Visitor's Center, Cuyahoga Hts.
4524 East 49th Street, Cleveland, OH
(216) 206-1000
(right along the canal)
7:30 pm
It's been quite awhile since Lee was here, and a number of years since a concert anywhere close to water. This smaller venue is perfect for the kind of intimate laid back concert Lee gives. His knowledge of, and dedication to these songs of sailors is only surpassed by his warm voice and wonderfully rich guitar playing. Along with the old songs and research, Lee writes his own memorable songs based on true stories from the Great Lakes. His "movable monument to capitalism" has a large selection of his recordings as well as some splendid books & music to go with them.
Worth the travel time to get there, truly. If you are unfamiliar, here is Lee Murdock's page.
