Shoot the bugger, next time it could be a child, a dog as you describe could easily kill a child or scar them for life, if it has bitten once it can do it again. I know from personal experience what it is like to be bitten in the face by a dog and am never comfortable near a dog even though more than 50 years have elapsed.
