Agreed, Raggytash. It's sad, but dogs, however apparently lovable, who get a habit of biting, go on doing it. I was once bitten very badly [needed hand stitched in hospital] by a Border collie whose owners had foolishly tied him to the door of a tennis court which I opened. They swiftly gathered up the dog & their children & made off. I happened to meet them socially later on, and she apologised belatedly. I said it was OK, I had probably thoughtlessly frightened the animal. Oh no, she said, I wasn't the first, or even the second or third, that he had bitten; & she looked quite taken aback when I asked why, in that case, he had been kept alive.

Sad thing: but biting dogs must go, for the sake of humans, especially children, who might come into contact with them.
