I was hoping he'd run. It may have been the ultimate wake up call for the populace........sorta' like the '59 Cadillac was for the automakers.
All through the 50's cars became longer, lower, wider, with fins growing a bit each year as the design studios tried to outdo the other. So let me take you back to September, 1958, when the next models were introduced. I figure it happened this way................
We're out front gathered with all the execs, designers, engineers, and line bosses as we await the first 1959 Caddy to roll off the line. We see a massive chrome front end approach and as it rolls out the door we see it is indeed longer, lower, and wider, than anything we have ever seen! The equally monstrous size chrome rear is overshadowed by the tallest fins ever put on a car. As it comes to a stop in the middle of the circle of dignitaries, absolutely not a single sound is heard. Mouths hang open in true awe as we all stare at the first 1959 Caddy Convertible.
Time passes slowly in silence until someone in the group voices the feelings of everyone present: "My God....What have we done?..........."
Had Trump won the nomination I would have believed that even the most fucked up Teabagger would have felt the same. I'm probably wrong though so I guess I'm glad the dumbfuck dropped out.
