Things are slowly getting sorted out. Mom has broken ribs and a broken arm. She will probably be discharged from the hospital today or tomorrow, and one of the angels that helped with Daddy is going to help out once she is home.

Annie's injuries are more serious and she will be in the acute care hospital for several more days. Not sure at this point if she will be discharged to home (Mom's) or to a rehab hospital. She will not be able to put any weight on her pelvis or legs for 4-6 weeks. Fortunately she has many good friends in Maryland who have stepped in to take care of her animals, house and mail for the next couple of months, until she is able to return to her own home.

Judging from the obituary, the young man who died was well-beloved by his family. We do not yet know that drugs or alcohol were involved. Mom said the truck made no attempt to slow or correct and had wondered if something had happened to the driver - seizure, heart attack or something of that nature. His obituary said his grandfather had died in the very early morning hours of that same day. Maybe he had been up all night and fell asleep at the wheel.
