Our cats fight, but I'm pretty sure it's only when one of us is around. What seems to be happening is that one of them uses the other as a way of getting us to open the door and let him out. "Open the door or the pussy gets it..."

Sometimes he bites our ankles instead to achieve the same effect. But laying in to his sister is more effective.
