I get very little spam these days and I'm not aware that it is because of filtering. My main and my parents email accounts are part of a web hosting package. Things may have changed but when spam filtering was discussed on the web hosting forum, it was agreed that they would add a tag to enable customers to identify mail they suspected as spam but they would not block anything.
