There is a problem at the moment with Skype. Not everybody is affected. Only a small number of people are affected. It happened to me. When you try to run Skype, you get a dialogue box that says that you have had an APPCRash and the properties show this

It is not a virus.
This is what you have to do to fix the issue. It is a known problem by Skype. They will be issuing a patch in the next couple of days, but you can click on this link and do it yourself. I have just done it and it worked.
