I understand about recliners and being short, Janie. I used lots and lots of pillows, tucked here and there, when Rog bought me a recliner for convalescing from heart surgery. They just aren't made for short people. Ditto the walker challenge in tight spaces. I found handrails in a couple of strategic places helped when I broke my ankle. I think a walker with wheels would have helped and, now, I see some with little kind of skis which seem to help one glide along easier. You certainly come from strong women stock! I admire the determination, love, and devotion to one another. May healing proceed apace for you all and may Annie and your mom be together as soon as is best for all concerned. You be careful and take care of yourself, too, ya hear?:-)
