An old fiddler was asked what was the best help to playing a tune. His reply was the ability to whistle. That allows you to functionally work on a tune even while you are engaged in other tasks. You practice by another means and get the tune square in your mind.
   But back to the topic, Stone's Rag is a fun tune and about as easy to play as they come.
