A killogie is a hollow in the ground deep enough to conceal whatever a lad and a lass might want to get up to together. The title is from a bawdy song first written down in the early 18th century. It's probably the original text of the song, since "Bannocks of Bear Meal" is Jacobite and they always recycled older tunes.

"The Spanish Cloak" may be a title derived from urban legend - the tune was believed by some in Ireland to be Spanish and to have come over ith the Armada. (We have been there in other threads - not bloody likely).
