It's always fun to see a thread come home. I never solved the exfoliation problem other than to buy a new Golden Melody, my harp of choice. I play every time I play a Golden Melody "D" harmonica that is now 22 years old. Sounds sweeter than a new one I got for Christmas this past year.

The Johnson and Johnson is in the box and still gets used.
