Subject: Tech: System files quarantined - what to do?
So my antivirus program - Panda - tells me it's got a free update it wants me to install. So I download the .exe file and run it. It says that a previous version of the program has been detected which must be uninstalled first. Upon beginning the automatic uninstall, a warning pops up:

"Some of your system files are in quarantine. If you uninstall the application, you will not be able to recover them."

That can't be good, right? I assume it's to do with a Trojan that Panda found and quarantined some months ago. I had no idea that it also quarantined some of my system files.

How do I extricate this Trojan from the system files and get it off my machine and them out of quarantine?
