Hey Kendall, my festival pal Donnie Dobro Scott, who lives in Mt. Airy, NC and has been playing trad bluegrass and country with some of the best as long as you and I have, had this to say:

That's part of the problem of course, but, as a point of information, they still have a quarter Jukeboxes in the booths in the Tastee Diner in Bethesda, MD. Of course, they've still got Hank Williams and Hank Snow on the Jukebox.

Personally I like the song. Thanks for sharing the lyrics, and I hope to hear you sing it in October.

For the discussion above: I lost interest in the commercial country stations just as I lost interest in the commercial pop and rock stations. A few artists mine the more traditional roots of country music. George Strait, Randy Travis, and Dwight Yokum come to mind, but the pickings are slim. Willie Nelson is still out there.

The gentleman above suggested "Alison Krauss and Union Station), Nickelcreek, and a brilliant young mando player called Sierra Hull". They are what is called Newgrass or Pop Bluegrass here in North Carolina, and have little to do with Country Music, apart from some trickling over; they're talented and sometime cover trad music, and add some life to the genre, but they aren't Country.
