Thread Name: Folklore: Blue It Is A Lovely Color - meaning?
Subject: RE: Folklore: Blue It Is A Lovely Color - meaning?
Thanks, mg
I thought maybe it referred to dyeing. But if the color is lovely after one dip, why would the dyer dip it again?
And what does it have to do with the old man, and what is the 'fit'?
I think I've also heard this as 'get the auld fid,' which brings up an entirely different mental picture.
Any more ideas, particularly on the connection between dyeing and the old man's, er, um...?
