You ought to try the Proclaimers... folkies from Edinburgh who had the big hit with "500 Miles (I'm Gonna Be)"... no, not the old folk song "500 Miles" just a neat little folk/pop number with catchy lyrics (and they even say "haver" instead of "puke" when describing a drunk man! How thoughtful!) They also have many beautiful ballads... all done in their unique way (twin brothers with GORGEOUS brogues)

Check out "Sunshine On Leith" (the album with the big hit and a song called "I'm On My Way"... just fun, well-written, pub-sing-along, good timey stuff.
