Making pizza is a gold mine for the pizza joints. Pizza itself costs mere pennies to make. And most of the carryout I have had in recent years is heavy on the dough and light on "substance."

I know it is less fun, but I suggest getting a nice whole-wheat pie from the store and adding your own sauce--lots to choose from--and ingredients--don't forget the anchovies. (Yes, I said, "anchovies!") The cost is a fraction of parlor pizza, and it is much more healthy. In fact, I am going to do just that for dinner tonight!
