Our next-door neighbor had a colony of bats under his roof when my kids were little. Suddenly my 4-year-old announced "My bat says I don't have to go to bed." We had a colony of virtual bats to discuss for awhile (it got baroque when papa bat was in a car accident and landed in a wheelchair). His twin was baffled, since HE never had a bat.
